“Feed the hungry, visit the sick and set free the captives.” (Sahih Al-Bukhari, volume 7, Hadith 552)

In 2021 Leagrave Hall Masjid started a food bank with the help of many volunteers and donors.

Leagrave Hall Masjid supported multiple families with the smallest being a household of 4 and the largest being a household of 13. With the support of our volunteers Leagrave Hall Masjid was able to carry out weekly donation runs and hand deliver to those in need of our aid.

In Ramadan 2021, we were able to feed many more families and were able to supply households with food to open and close their fasts with. We did this with the intention of being a part of the ‘righteous’ who are praised in the Holy Qur’an and to help those who are in need. It is important to look around us and be thankful for all that we have in order to remember that others may not be as fortunate as us.

“(The righteous are those) who feed the poor, the orphan and the captive for the love of God, saying: ‘We feed you for the sake of God Alone; we seek from you neither reward nor thanks.” – Quran, 76:8-9
