As narrated in a hadith, Abu Sa’id al-Khudri r.a. reported that the Prophet s.a.w. said,
“The world is sweet and green, and verily Allah is going to install you as vicegerents in it in order to see how you act”.
(Sahih Muslim)
From this hadith, we learn of the care our Prophet (PBUH) had for the environment and how he aimed at protecting it wholeheartedly. As an ummah, we, therefore,
have the same duty and should strive to protect our beautiful planet just like those before us did. Volunteers from our masjid participated in helping clean our streets by using litter-picking equipment provided by signposts.org. We walked the local streets of Luton with the intention of helping purify our environment and keep it ‘’sweet and green’’
like the Prophet taught us.
